Stirling CAB Winter Warmth Campaign
As temperatures & incomes fall, Stirling CAB continues its Winter Warmth Campaign
As the new year begins we would expect our children to be returning to school to share their stories of Christmas holidays. However, as we are all keenly aware, this has not been the case this year. More and more families are now adapting to home schooling, home working, and once again being placed on furlough. This change in how we are living our lives, with us spending more time indoors we are using, and paying, more on our fuel bills. Coupled with the decrease in income that many households are facing as a continued effect of the restrictions brought about by Coronavirus, the prospect of fuel poverty and financial hardship looms large in our communities.
In the January edition of our Winter Warmth Campaign Newsletter we draw attention to the support that can be found in managing energy efficiency, finding access to grants, and highlighting eligible sources of income. We would like to highlight and stress that there is support available for individuals and families, experiencing a short-term crisis event, or facing a longer term change in circumstances.
Craig Anderson, CEO of Stirling CAB said - “With both temperatures and incomes continuing to drop, the Stirling CAB Winter Warmth campaign seeks to raise awareness of its specialist Energy & Fuel poverty services across the whole district. Many people are at home more as a result of the new lockdown & are using more electricity & gas. The new specialist Stirling CAB services could really help - saving money, maximising incomes, switching energy provider, accessing grants & resolving fuel & money related problems. Please get in touch and the team are ready & willing to assist you”.
We would ask that if you, or someone you may know, are facing any type of new or ongoing difficulty or hardship, brought on by, or worsened by, the onset of winter, to contact the team to seek advice and assistance. Support can be obtained through telephone, email & face to face appointments at our offices or in your home once the Scottish Government deem it safe to do so.
